Location: Getting the coffee ready and dreaming of Johnny all the while...~

~Johnny Depp Friends~   Looking back, it’s almost hard to believe that it has been over six years since Captain Jack Sparrow appeared on that mast and swept Johnny Depp into a place of celebrity and into our hearts. We know it took him by surprise. It’s rather amazing that many of us found ourselves caught in the wave of excitement and wonder along with him. It didn’t matter whether we had admired Johnny and his craft before that, or whether we were discovering his talents for the first time. There is no doubt that for many, Johnny included, the world tilted...and in a good way.
At that time, how many of us took those first tentative steps and ventured into the vastness of the World Wide Web, urged by some weird inner drive to learn about this wonderful actor who had somehow managed to insinuate himself into our very cores? How many of us even knew what we were doing, or WHY were doing it? The pressing need to follow our hearts and to learn and to know were, for many, such a strong driving force that there really was no explanation. Truly, to even look too deeply into the ‘why’s’ may have removed the magical wonder of it all. We seemed to be caught in some fabulous wave and for some reason, instead of fighting it, we let it take us.
And take us it did...
It was an interesting ride and truth be told, who gave much thought to the journey let alone any particular, eventual destination? It was all so new and exciting and it seemed that as long as we were together doing something Johnny-related, we knew there was fun to be had and we knew it was good. We left those pesky everyday sensibilities behind, plunged into the Johnny Depp fray, and without realising it, we were making friendships that would last a lifetime. It didn’t matter how we ‘met’, whether it was in a chatroom, on a message board, a meeting in person or anything in between. All that mattered is that we were together...that we are together...with our own kind.
Here we are, six years later, many of us still together from the outset and still with all that is Johnny Depp burning brightly in our hearts. With that in mind, and with an understanding of what ‘Our Ladies’ need and want, we have come to this place in time, creating our own site and doing our own thing, hoping to provide a comfortable ‘home’ for those we know and a welcoming atmosphere for those who wish to join. There is always room for one more.
Our love and admiration for Johnny Depp hasn’t waned...it’s still there humming along in the background. Comforting. His comings and goings will always be a much-loved and integral part of the day to day happenings in this community. As our beloved fanny once said, randomly in a post that was without a doubt, acutely heartfelt,
“We came here because of Johnny Depp but we stay here because of each other.”
We would like to welcome you to Johnny Depp Friends, our place on the web where we hope you will find not only bits and pieces about Johnny, up to date Depp news and photos, but also a bit more of what we offer...a unique place where not everything has to be about Johnny, where we can let our hair down and have some fun, where we don’t take ourselves too seriously. We believe a message board is SUPPOSED to be fun, after all. We know that there are times when we all need a bit of an escape from real life. We offer a little bit of that respite. For what can be better than spending some time relaxing with friends and having a little bit of Johnny Depp on the side?
